Herman Smith began working with silver at age 15 and learned his craft from his mother, famous Native American artisan Mary C. Yazzie. Smith is known for his traditional stamp work designs in heavy silver.

This simple and elegant collar necklace is a fine sample of Herman Smith's silver art. The necklace is handcrafted in sterling silver, featuring Smith's signature stamp work. It measures 6.3 mm wide and 3 mm thick. It's length from end to end is 14.5" plus 2.75" opening. The reverse side of the end is marked: HS sterling. The total piece weight is 59.1 g.
