1863 H M Lane Civil War Token Graded XF40 BN by NGC

Product Description

Civil War tokens are coins that were privately minted in the United States between 1861 and 1864, during the outbreak of the American Civil War. They were used primarily in the Northeast and Midwest. The widespread use of the tokens was a direct result of the scarcity of government-issued cents during the Civil War. An 1863 H. M. Lane Civil War Token graded XF-40 Brown (BN) by NGC. This token features the NY-630-AP-6a reverse die pattern, and advertises the H. M. Lane oil and kerosene business. Dies were designed by Louis Roloff and Emil Sigel, respectively. Toned a beautiful brown, it's an excellent original time period piece. Please buy with confidence, and ask any and all questions that may concern this gorgeous piece. Also, please view our photos!
