For your consideration is a Vintage Latvian .875 Fine Silver Vermeil Engraved Cigarette Case in very good to excellent pre-owned condition. This cigarette case by an unknown Latvian silversmith 'SL' features a matte finished exterior with high polished sides, gold vermeil finish on the inside of the case and blue cabochon accented closure. The outside and inside of the case are beautifully engraved with Hebrew characters and are written in Yiddish. The inner engraving roughly translates to 'Mark, friend of Kige, teacher of the fourth elementary school'. The band within the inside of the case is stretched out due to age and will need to be replaced.
