An 1835 (Brunk-X-1 NYC Counterstamp of Thomas Wildes) Classic Head half cent graded About Uncirculated 55 Brown (AU-55 BN) by NGC. This piece displays an excellent original chocolate brown copper color/tone with beautiful smooth surfaces and strong counterstamp with excellent details underneath. Brunk attributes this counterstamp to the pewter smith Thomas Wildes of Philadelphia, however the host coin dated 1835 would've been from his newly moved firm in New York City. The total mintage for this date & mint: 398,000. Please view our photos for additional information and ask any questions prior to purchase.
