Product Description
Before the Canadian Confederation which unified the country in 1867, several individual provinces issued their own coinage. Nova Scotia produced half penny tokens, penny tokens, half cents, and one cent coins. Most of the old Nova Scotia tokens you see these days are not in good condition. They have darkened considerably and most of the devices and inscriptions have worn away. If you have one that does not look dark, but looks orange instead, it has been harshly cleaned and holds almost no collector value. Later date tokens have a queen (presumably Queen Victoria) on the front instead of a king.Additional Info
