This fabulous watch from Girard-Perregaux comes in a 23 mm 14k gold watch case. It also has a twelve hour iridium based dial, with glass crystal and bluish steel hands which are made from iridium dauphine. It is a sophisticated timepiece that can be worn on multiple occasions.

Origins

Girard-Perregaux was established in Switzerland in 1791, and is one of the few watchmakers from that era still in existence today. It was founded by Constant Girard and Jean-Francois Bautte, who had previously founded a manufacturing firm in Geneva. After learning the skills needed to assemble watches he was able to market them to more clientele. Their history consists of a variety of exceptional designs which merge functionality with aesthetics. One example of this is the 1975 Laureato, along with a Tourbillion which uses 3 golden bridges and transforms them from a mere technical component to a fundamental part of the watch. As a result of this accomplishment Girard-Perregaux was given a golden medal during the Paris International Exposition of 1899.

Design Characteristics

This brand of watches is distinctive for their manufactured movements, bands and cases. Their team consists of engineers, polishers and decorators, all of which who work together seamlessly to produce world class products. Their global approach combines classical watchmaking and craftsmanship with the ability to manufacture timepieces from the early assembly stage to the finishing encasement.

Their full range of mechanical movements include GP4500, GP2700, GP3300 and GP3200, which are capable of fitting various watch types and which may act as a foundation for module constructions for any mechanism which has complications.  Today the company is headquartered in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and in 1999 opened a museum in the nearby Villa Marguerite. In 2011 the Sowind Group, who is the holding group for Girard-Perregaux, themselves became a subsidiary under the Kering Group, which is a French organization.

Since its founding, Girard-Perregaux has produced more than 100 patents, and has won numerous accolades as a result. All of their horological skills and techniques have been mastered in-house, which has enabled them to manufacture timepieces which push the very limits of watch creation.  Girard-Perregaux is famous for its extensive collection of world class watch movements.
