Product Description
A 1395 - 1402 Italian Grosso minted in Milan graded XF-40 by NGC. This piece displays a nice original white silver color/tone and very nice visible details. Please view our photos for additional information. Total mintage is unknown.
Following the Venetian Grosso, many Italian states followed suit and minted their own coinage similar in purity and weight. A Grosso (plural Grossi) was originally allowed to fluctuate in market value based on the price of silver. However in 1332, the Grosso was standardized at 4 soldini or 48 denarii. The example you see here was minted in Milan, Italy from 1395 - 1402 and therefore does not bear a date.
